Is the Donations clearinghouse open?

The office is open.

How can a caseworker refer a client?

A caseworker can complete an intake form - Online Referral Form / Download - and submit it, along with a letter on their agency’s letterhead. Paperwork can be submitted via email at dch@cmhaonline.org, or fax at 774-243-3871. Please include the client’s email address if they have one.

How are client intakes being done?

The easiest and most straightforward way is via email. Once an intake is received, the client will be emailed a list of questions to fill out. When that has been done, they will be contacted with options to receive furniture. If a client does not have an email address, the intake can be completed over the phone.

Are appointments being scheduled to pick out items?

We are scheduling appointments for people to pick out furniture.  Prior to their scheduled appointment, recipients will receive a list of guidelines that must be followed in order to access the furniture.

How are donations being collected?

If someone wished to donate furniture, they can contact by email or phone, and provide a list of items they wish to donate, as well as the location of pickup.

Are items cleaned after pickup / before they are given to clients?

At this time, we do not have a cleaning protocol in place. We do visually inspect all furniture prior to accepting it, and are currently discussing ways to sanitize donated items.
