Receiving Items

If you are in need of household items from the Donations Clearinghouse, acquiring a referral form and letter from a social service agency is the first step.

Please have your caseworker fill out the referral form (online form OR download pdf) and write a letter addressing your need on the referring agency’s letterhead.

Your case worker can fax or email in your referral documents. We will contact you directly to complete an intake via email or phone, during which time an appointment will be scheduled for you to pick out your furniture.

Eligibility

Criteria for accessing the DCH includes, but is not limited to, families and individuals who are:

  • Moving from shelter to permanent housing

  • Fleeing domestic violence

  • Working with DCF on reunification

  • Elderly and/or disabled

  • Victims of natural disaster

  • Living on a fixed income
