About This Training
This one-day Domestic Violence 101 training is designed for members of our Coordinated Entry Working Group. Led by the domestic violence team at YWCA Central Massachusetts, the session builds practical, trauma-informed skills for recognizing abuse and responding to survivors within housing and case-management work — open to all working group members.
What You'll Cover
● Recognize — domestic violence services, legal definitions, and the data behind them
● Understand — the impacts and warning signs of abuse, including coercive control
● Trauma — how trauma shapes the brain, behavior, and disclosure
● Respond — safety planning and trauma-informed, non-judgmental response strategies
