Worcester County Unsheltered Point In Time Count

Required by HUD; Hosted by The MA-506 PIT team.

It’s our goal to count all the homeless individuals and all available beds for the night of 1/28/2026. HUD uses the results of this unique census to make funding decisions.
We need participation!

We need homeless persons to fill out an Unsheltered PIT survey.
This is a quick demographic survey about where you’d stayed the night of Jan 28th 2026, as well as some background information about yourself.

It may be filled out starting January 28th 2026 and the following 7 days.
(Until Wednesday the 4th of February 2026).
Responses should be about the night of January 28th 2026.

This survey is for persons without shelter on the night of Wednesday January 28th 2026.

Persons residing in the following settings on the night of the count are prohibited from being included in the sheltered or unsheltered PIT count:

• Persons counted in any location not listed on CoCs’ Housing Inventory Count (HIC) (e.g., staying in projects with beds/units not dedicated for persons who are homeless)

• Persons residing in permanent housing (PH) programs, including persons housed using HUD Veterans Affairs Supportive Housing (VASH) vouchers

• Persons temporarily staying with family or friend (i.e., “doubled-up” or “couch surfing”)

New in 2026 we are offering an optional extended PIT survey for homeless individuals:

Optional Extended PIT Informational Form – Fill out form

This is for homeless individuals to share more of their story and perspective on the system. We may not be able to respond to all messages, but we intend to share general sentiments and specific messages with local leadership.

Interested in volunteering to help? Fill out this form and we may contact you! This is our first year accepting volunteers, so we are still working out this process.
We may have volunteers: Help street outreach workers to preform surveys, distribute food and goods to the homeless, help spread the word, help design forms and other documents.
This initial form just shows your interest, we’ll reach out with what opportunities are available. Regardless of volunteer status please spread the word on this event!
